What Are Your Infection Prevention and Control Assessments Telling You?
Event Description:
A strong infection prevention and control (IPC) program is critical to protect both residents and healthcare personnel from potentially life-threatening infections. Healthcare facilities must develop, implement and maintain an effective IPC program. According to the CMS Requirements of Participation (RoP), in 483.80 Infection control, (f) Annual review, “The facility will conduct an annual review of its IPCP and update their program, as necessary.” The purpose of an IPC Assessment is to systematically assess a healthcare facility’s infection prevention and control practices and guide quality improvement activities (e.g., by addressing identified gaps). This session will focus on how to use the IPC assessment to monitor your infection control program, prioritize improvement opportunities, and help your team develop actionable interventions to implement.
